If you suffer from oral pain due to missing teeth, a fixed bridge may be a good choice for you. A fixed bridge is actually a set of false teeth, or a false tooth, that replaces missing teeth. It is fused between two crowns that are fitted over the teeth on either side of the empty space.

Advantages for a Fixed Bridge

  • Fixed bridges are stable and secure
  • They resemble and feel like your own teeth
  • Fixed bridges are made to look natural and match the color texture of the rest of your teeth

Uses of Fixed Bridges

    • Replace missing teeth

  • Enhance the beauty of your smile

Process for Fixed Bridges

Getting a fixed bridge usually requires two office visits. During your first visit, the teeth on either side of the gap are prepared. This involves reshaping them by removing a small portion of the enamel to ensure a proper fit of the fixed bridge. Impressions are taken and sent to the laboratory to be used as the model for the bridge. You will be fitted with a temporary bridge while yours is being constructed.

On your second visit, the temporary bridge will be removed and the new bridge will be installed. You may need to visit Dr. Fixari over the next few weeks so that he can check the accuracy of the fit of your new fixed bridge.

Fixed bridges are a permanent dental feature but they still require care and maintenance. Good oral hygiene and regular dental visits to our office are a vital part of this process.
